Abstract: Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) are a new type of online class that allow anyone, anywhere, to participate lectures, computer graded tests, and discussion forums via video. Recently University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, through his Platform EDUOPEN financed by Murst (Italian Department of University and Scientific Reasearch), activated a blecs (BLEnded CourseS) course on Information Literacy for Education Department students, held by librarians. As the followers of this online course gave a very encouraging feedback, the Librarian staff decided to substitute traditional Information Literacy Courses with blended courses utilizing parts of video- lessons prepared for MOOCs. This allows librarian teachers to spend much time in classrooms to make student training in bibliographic research.
